Here we are at Club Trabendo in Paris. Yesterday we played one of the best clubs in Europe, Z7 in Pratteln, Switzerland. We arrived right on time at about noon and a large sweet and salty breakfast was waiting for us. Spectacular venue, a big stage and a huge hall, sounds and light really amazing, a cute backstage with showers and also washing machines.
Soundcheck was great, but the fact of becoming opener from the date of Romagnano created a bit nervousness, especially because Coma, the band that replaced the Neapolitans Heavenshine, honestly doesn't fit neither with Arkona nor with Therion, they sound like a bad mix of Nirvana and System of a Down. But it seems that in their homeland Poland they are very famous...by the way they are out of context. When we went on stage, doors were just opened and under the stage there was not a lot of people but then they grew and we did a good show...of course if we were second we would have played with full audience. Even the dinner was really good, meat and fish, fresh fruit and a fridge full of everything. Therion and Arkona gigs were great as always, with the addition that sounds and lights were super, the best of the tour of course. Some musicians friends of mine told me about the excellence of this club and it was great to play it! While Therion was playing their show, into the backstage I did a cultural exchange with Vladimir from Arkona: he made me try his tin whistle and I teached him some of my flute (I had to play a song on tour with Sound Storm, "Lord of the blood" but we had to cut a couple of songs of the setlist and it was cut). We end the evening by showing Therion the whole video of their concert filmed by our David, a talk also with Arkona (finally a pic with Masha) and we got on tourbus, on the way to Paris!

Eccoci al Club Trabendo, a Parigi. Ieri abbiamo suonato in quello che è reputato uno dei migliori club europei, lo Z7 di Pratteln, in Svizzera. Siamo arrivati in perfetto orario, verso mezzogiorno e ad attenderci c'era un ricco buffet dolce e salato. Venue spettacolare, un palco e una sala enormi, un impianto audio e luci davvero incredibile, un backstage carino con doccie e persino lavatrici. Il souncheck si è svolto senza intoppi, ma il fatto di essere retrocessi dalla data di Romagnano a opener, ha creato un po' di nervosismo, soprattutto perchè i Coma, la band che ha sostituito i napoletani Heavenshine, sinceramente non centra assolutamente nulla nè con gli Arkona nè con i Therion, sembrano un mix poco riuscito di Nirvana e System of a Down. Ma pare che nella loro patria, in Polonia siano davvero molto famosi...in ogni caso a me non dicono proprio nulla e cmq sono davvero fuori contesto in questo tour. Quando saliamo sul palco le porte son state aperte da poco e sotto il palco non c'è molta gente ma man mano che il nostro concerto prosegue il locale si affolla e facciamo il nostro bello show apprezzati dai presenti...naturalmente se fossimo rimasti secondi avremmo suonato a pubblico pieno. Anche la cena è stata davvero ottima, carne e pesce, dolce, frutta e frigorifero pieno di qualsiasi cosa. I concerti di Arkona e Therion si svolgono ottimamente come sempre, con l'aggiunta che i suoni e le luci sono davvero spettacolari, i migliori del tour: tanti mi avevano detto dell'eccellenza di questo club ed è stato davvero un'onore poterci suonare! Mentre i Therion fanno il loro spettacolo nel backstage io e Vladimir degli Arkona facciamo uno scambio culturale: lui mi fa provare i suoni tin whistle e io il mio flauto traverso (che avrei dovuto suonare in tour in un brano dei Sound Storm, "Lord of the blood" ma abbiamo dovuto accorciare di un paio di pezzi la set list ed è stato tagliato purtroppo). Terminiamo la serata mostrando ai Therion il video intero del loro live registrato dal nostro David, qualche chiacchiera in compagnia degli Arkona (finalmente ho fatto anche una fotina con Masha) e si sale sul tourbus in direzione Parigi!
