EVENOIRE - The great experience at METAL FEMALE VOICE FEST, Belgium!

ITALIANO:
Emozione ancora più grande è conoscerla nel backstage e sentirsi dire "You smell so good, not like all these guys around" :D Foto insieme è d'obbligo, poter condividere il palco e il backstage con artiste di tale fama è meraviglioso!
Herons, Drops of Amber, The Newborn Spring, Minstrel of Dolomites, Tears of Medusa, Season of Decay, When The Sun Sets scorrono rapidissime, con un pubblico che canta, balla e ci dà tutto il supporto possibile...davvero meravigliosi!!

Metal Female Voices Fest: one of the great experiences of my life!
In 2010 I attended the festival in the crowd and I had the chance to enter the backstage for promotion, so I already knew what a wonderful opportunity it's to play that prestigious stage.
Our performance was scheduled for Sunday, October 19, at 12.20.
The Belgian adventure began on Friday, October 17: with all the luggage I headed by train to Bergamo, to reach Live Keller where I took part as flautist to the concert of friends Holy Shire, opening for Elvenking. Beautiful evening full of friends and familiar faces and lots of great music... as usual I danced and jumped like a teenagers during their live!
After the concert, between a beer and a chat, I lost the time: it was already 3 am and I realized that waking up at 5 am to go to the airport would not be the easiest...with my cousin Stefano, who joined our trip to Belgium, I went to sleep at his home not far from Orio al Serio Airport.
The alarm clock was killer...with less than 2 hours of sleep, we reached the airport.
Soon the others Evenoire arrived too, boarded the luggage, check-in and ready to take off, but not without wearing a safety belt at the passenger Fender and Esp close to us. And as usual, I am the most lucky one: only one ticket is not close to the others ... guess which one? Mine of course! In the back of the plane alone, I took this opportunity to sleep a bit...although judging by the faces none of us has rested so much.
We arrived Brussels Charleroi airport at about 11.30, welcomed by a nice warm sun.
We catched our luggages and the rented van and headed to Bruges, waiting to get the keys to the apartment at 4 pm. Bruges is lovely, well-known for chocolate shops; colorful and picturesque buildings and the relaxed atmosphere give me the idea of a great place where living. We decided to stop at a traditional pub for lunch, not without a nice Belgian beer to greet the weekend; singing stupid songs we finally reached the apartment, in a quiet neighborhood of Brussels.
We took the opportunity to rest a couple of hours and around 19 we reached the Oktoberhallen in Wieze, half an hour from the apartment, just in time for the performance of the project The Sirens, with Anneke van Giersbergen, Kari Rueslatten and Liv Kristine...it was great to listen again to Anneke singing songs by the Gathering. Emotion was even greater when I met her in the backstage area and she told me  "Oh, you smell so good, not like all these guys around" :D Sharing the stage and backstage with artists such great is wonderful!
Then we met Leaves' Eyes, great to talk with Sander and the other guys again!! Their show, which followed Sirenia and closed the second day of the festival, was organized to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the band, really explosive, with many guests and fireworks.
Time to go back to the apartment...the alarm clock is on Sunday at 6:30 am, the load in at 9 am.
Another beautiful, warm sunny day gave us a good morning; shower, breakfast, and we returned at Oktoberhallen...excitement was great! We unloaded instruments and merch, prepared all technical stuff and waited for our show.
When the doors opened, the area was already crowded, because outside Italy the audience does not come just for the headliner, but enjoy the festival from the first band!
The first band finished the show, it's up to us! The organization was perfect, the excitement was a lot, but anxiety became positive energy as soon as I went on stage and I saw a very huge and warm audience. Herons, Drops of Amber, The Newborn Spring, Minstrel of Dolomites, Tears of Medusa, Season of Decay, When The Sun Sets slided fast, with an audience that sang, danced and gave us a strong support...really wonderful!!
I also saw an Italian flag in the crowd, because at MFVF people come from all over the world. We met fans as well as from Europe, also from Canada, the US, Chile, Japan.
After our live we took a ride in the VIP area, a backstage area where also people with VIP tickets can enter... the opportunity to meet and take pictures with so many people that gave us back immediately positive opinions about our performance.
My photo session with official photographer Tim Tronkoe was scheduled at 13.40; some fans who had booked to take pictures with me and the photographer also came.
At 14 our signing session was scheduled: I was really amazed by how many people came to get autographed CDs and photos!
Here it came time for relaxing a bit, we all were full of joy for the great feedback...time also to use all the free drinks :D
The day continued with many pleasant meeting and fun, an interview with Femme Metal Webzine and lunch at 17.
Finally Arkona appeared into the backstage, it was a pleasure to hug Masha, Vladimir and Sergei who together with Therion came directly from the Russian tour. Too bad Linnéa was not been able to get on stage with us for "Tears of Medusa" because of timing, but it was wonderful to meet her again, even with Nalle, Thomas and other guys from Therion. It was amazing meeting all together again after the European tour I did last December with Sound Storm.
The talented Italian photographer Andrea Pensalfine was also there, official photographer of Therion for the festival, he also took us some nice shots.
During the day I enjoyed concerts of Stream of Passion with the wonderful voice of Marcela Bovio, Arkona funny and powerful as always and Therion. Unfortunately, they had some technical problems during the show but the set list, which included some of the most famous songs, was enjoyable.
Time to say goodbye to everyone and go back to the apartment...no without partying with some good Belgian beers till late night and see some videos already appeared on youtube.
On Monday morning the weather became colder, we reached for lunch the small town of Nivelles ... as usual we lost time and almost the airplane!
At 15 we flew back to Italy...and guess what? This time I was all alone again in front of the plane while my guys partying in the back XD

This experience was great from all points of view, I'm so happy!! I thank my band, Stefano, the organization, photographers and all the artists and fans met...you made it all so special and memorable! I miss you all!!
