Sound Storm + Heavenshine dinner

Yesterday our tour made a stop at the most important indoor metal festival in Europe, Eindhoven Metal Meeting. In the bill of our day played great bands like Arcturus, Coroner, Impaled Nazaren, and also Italian Aborym and Elvenking, whom I had the opportunity to meet on May 3 2013 with my Evenoire when we shared the stage at Honky Tonky near Milan.
We arrived about 12 pm at Eindhoven, our gig was scheduled for 15:10, the second concert of the day on Jaegermeister Stage. I had some difficults to wake up in the morning, the cold air of the tourbus and the rough road we traveled from Jena to Eindhoven caused me some difficult to sleep; Valerio came to wake me up handing the artist bracelet for backstage access. I jumped down from my bunk, I dressed and I immediately went out...the curiosity to see Effenaar, the venue of the festival was great.
In front of me a huge 5-floor building, and I was lost in the corridors of the backstage: never seen a concert hall so big! On the first floor there is Jaegermeister Stage where we played, on the second floor Main Stage, on the fourth floor restaurant for artists, on the fifth dressing rooms (on the third ... I have not explored :D). This time only one dressing room for the 4 bands of our tour: on the door was written "Therion package" ahahahaha. I had a shower (not showers the day before) and breakfast with the most decent food I found. Soon it was the time for our show, just after Heavenshine: we were a bit worried about having to play so early, the room when we came on stage for a quick line check was completely empty, but once our intro starts a lot of people arrived and we had a good show, with a great audience that really liked us, and a lot of photographers under the stage. Great technicians and sounds, here in Holland I must say that the organization was perfect and they valorized artists. After our show I stayed a bit into the backstage and then I went to the Main Stage to listen to Arkona. Audience was large and very involved. The most funny moment of the day it was dinner: a horrible overcooked pasta served with strange sauces made of 10 or 15 ingredients together was waiting for us...with disgusted faces we ate something and to digest we drank some jeagermeister :) Then I listened to Arcturus, that played a good concert but it's a genre that I don't like so much. At one point in the backstage also appeared Mark Jansen from Epica ... probably he lives in this area...I was feeling bad :D I also met nice guys of Elvenking, great to find friends musicians playing at the same festival abroad! We listened to Coroner...amazing, they did a great show and then we decided to have a walk in the downtown, very beautiful, full of bars and pubs: we had a beer and went back to the tourbus , ready to leave for Lausanne!

Oggi il nostro tour ha fatto tappa al metal festival indoor più importante d'Europa, l'Eindhoven Metal Meeting. Nella nostra giornata erano comprese grandi band quali Arcturus, Coroner, Impaled Nazaren, e anche i colleghi italiani Aborym e gli Elvenking, che ho avuto l'occasione di conoscere il 3 maggio scorso quando coi miei Evenoire abbiamo condiviso la serata all'Honky Tonky di Seregno. Siamo arrivati a Eindhoven per mezzogiorno circa, il nostro live era previsto per le 15.10, secondo concerto della giornata sul Jegermainster Stage. Il risveglio è stato un po' difficoltoso stamattina, l'aria fredda sul tourbus e i tratti di strada dissestata che abbiamo trovato nel tragitto da Jena a qui mi han causato qualche difficoltà di sonno; Valerio è venuto a svegliarmi consegnandomi il braccialetto artist per l'accesso al backstage. Sono quindi balzata giù dalla cuccetta, mi son vestita e sono immediatamente scesa...la curiosità di vedere l'Effenaar, la venue del festival era parecchia.
Mi son trovata davanti una costruzione immensa a 5 piani, e mi sono immediatamente persa tra i corridoi del backstage: mai vista una venue per concerti così grande! Al primo piano si trova il Jagermeinster Stage, dove abbiamo suonato, al secondo il Main Stage, al quarto la sala catering e al quinto le dressing room (al terzo...non ho esplorato :D ). Stavolta unico camerino per le 4 band del nostro tour: sulla porta della nostra dressing room stava scritto "Therion package" ahahahaha. Approfittando della doccia incredibilmente libera mi ci sono subito buttata dentro dato che ieri le docce non esistevano purtroppo...sono poi scesa al quarto piano per far colazione con quello di decente che ho trovato nel solito breakfast internazionale. In breve è giunto il momento della nostra esibizione, subito dopo gli Heavenshine: eravamo un po' preoccupati dovendo suonare così presto, la sala quando siamo saliti sul palco per un breve line check era completamente vuota, ma una volta partito il nostro intro è entrata un bel po' di gente e abbiamo fatto un bello spettacolo, con un pubblico interessato che ha davvero apprezzato, e un bel po' di fotografi in prima fila. Tecnici di livello e suoni spettacolari, qui in Olanda devo dire che che è tutta un'altra cosa, organizzazione impeccabile in tutto e piena valorizzazione degli artisti. Dopo il nostro live mi son riposata un po' nel backstage e sono poi scesa a sentire qualche brano degli Arkona sul Main stage: il pubblico delle 16.30 era già numerosissimo e molto partecipe. Il top delle risate della giornata devo dire che è stata la cena: per gli italiani è un insulto trovarsi davanti pasta scotta servita immersa in sughi improponibili composti da 10 o 15 ingredienti tutti insieme...con le facce disgustate alla fine abbiamo ingurgitato qualcosa e per digerire abbiamo poi bevuto qualche jegermainster :) Mi sono poi ascoltata gli Arcturus, che han fatto un bel concerto ma è un genere che sinceramente non mi prende particolarmente. A un certo punto nel backstage è comparso anche Mark Jansen degli Epica...probabilmente abita in questa zona...mi stavo sentendo male :D Ho poi avuto l'occasione di scambiare due chiacchiere con gli Elvenking, trovare dei colleghi italiani in un contesto del genere è sempre piacevole! Ci siamo poi ascoltati i Coroner...davvero incredibili, hanno fatto un concerto da paura! Abbiamo poi deciso di farci due passi in centro, davvero molto bello, pieno di locali e pub: ci siamo fatti una birretta e siamo tornati al tourbus, pronti per ripartire alla volta di Losanna!
