Colgo l'occasione dell'uscita del primo videoclip della mia band EVENOIRE per parlarvi un po' di come è stato realizzato, dei luoghi che abbiamo scelto per ambientarlo e del mito cui si ispira.Il video è stato ideato e realizzato dal regista Matteo Marostica; i due protagonisti sono la nostra amica amica Leda Paleari e il fratello Enrico.
GIORNO 1: Iniziamo il lavoro per il video domenica 9 novembre 2014, esplorando le campagne cremonesi a caccia di un airone: ci vuole tanta pazienza, ma in qualche ora di tentativi Matteo riesce a immortalare il volo perfetto che sarà collocato a inizio video.
La giornata prosegue esplorando la campagna alla ricerca di qualche angolo suggestivo; successivamente si fa tappa ad un agriturismo per visionare camere da letto in stile antico. I gestori, di estremo stampo cattolico, inizialmente interessati, ci rimbalzano quando scoprono di avere a che fare con un satanico e perverso gruppo metal (senza parole!!).
GIORNO 2: La seconda giornata di riprese è quella di sabato 22 novembre 2014. Iniziamo la mattina presto, nei pressi di Soncino (CR), dove Toshiro, insieme al regista Matteo e ai collaboratori effettuano alcune riprese dall'alto con elicottero del fiume Oglio. Pausa pranzo e si prosegue con la fase trucco a casa mia, per poi spostarci al Podere Bellavitis, un bel ristorante all'interno di una antica cascina signorile nei pressi di Corte de' Frati (CR), proprio al mio paese. Ci raggiungono gli amici Gionata e Giulia, che ci danno una mano coi materiali per le riprese del playback. Le scene della band sono state girati nella bella sala di ingresso del ristorante, al piano superiore, ricca di mobili e quadri antichi, perfetta quindi per un'ambientazione elegante e molto evocativa. La giornata si conclude con una bella cena di gruppo, senza far tardi perchè l'indomani ci aspetta una giornata ancora più piena.
GIORNO 3: La terza e ultima giornata di riprese è quella con gli attori, per ambientare la storia di "Drops of Amber": appuntamento di prima mattina a Villa Medici del Vascello, un bellissimo castello, recentemente aperto al pubblico, nei pressi di San Giovanni in Croce (CR). Il comune ci ha gentilmente messo a disposizione alcune stanze per truccare e preparare gli attori. Le riprese vengono effettuate nel parco del castello, ricco di angoli davvero suggestivi, con una ricca natura autunnale che ci offre un'ambientazione perfetta. Stupendo l'antico tempietto, in origine utilizzato come voliera.
A metà pomeriggio, si prosegue con una tappa al fiume Po, a Cremona, per girare alcune scene vicino all'acqua: incredibile la pazienza e la naturalezza di Leda ed Enrico, che sfidano il freddo di novembre senza alcun timore, recitando con naturalezza e sempre pieni di entusiasmo!
Dopo aver recuperato a casa mia qualche soprammobile ed oggetto, ci spostiamo poi nel b&b Monteverdi, in centro a Cremona, per girare le scene della stanza da letto: l'ambiente, arredato e ammobiliato in stile antico, è proprio ciò di cui abbiamo bisogno.
Tappa finale, la piscina di Verolanuova (BS); qui si girano con Leda ed Enrico le scene sott'acqua.
Un ringraziamento a Matteo e lo staff, agli attori e coloro che hanno collaborato.
E' stato un lavoro intenso, che abbiamo cercato di curare al meglio, spero quindi che il risultato sia anche di vostro gradimento :)
Il video, così come il testo della canzone, si ispirano al mito greco di Fetonte, che riporto qui sotto:
Fetonte, figlio di Elio e della ninfa Climene, venne offeso da Epafo, il quale sosteneva che il giovane non fosse figlio del Sole. Fetonte, in lacrime, per l'insulto subito, supplicò la madre Climene di dar prova della sua paternità e del suo valore, permettendogli di guidare per una volta il carro solare. La madre chiese al Sole se il giovane figlio potesse guidare il carro, solo per una volta, ed il padre lo accontentò avvertendolo della grande difficoltà nel portare i maestosi cavalli.
Fetonte, bramoso di dar prova del suo valore, balzò sul carro e senza ascoltare il padre cominciò il suo volo. I cavalli s'imbizzarrirono, e si avvicinarono alla sfera terrestre provocando disastri, incendi, e siccità. Per evitare la distruzione della terra il giovane Fetonte andava fermato, e per fare ciò Zeus, padre degli Dei, scagliò una saetta catapultando il giovane dio nell'Eridano (l'attuale fiume Po), vicino a Crespino (Rovigo). Subito accorsero le sorelle Eliadi, che disperate per l'incidente non cessavano il pianto. Zeus decise di fermare il loro dolore tramutandole in pioppi, e le loro lacrime in ambra.
Today I would like to talk a bit about the backstage of the first music video of my band Evenoire, the places we chose to set it and the myth that inspired the song and the video.The director is Matteo Marostica; the two protagonists are our friend Leda Paleari and her brother Enrico.
DAY 1: We started the work for the video on Sunday, November 9, 2014, exploring the countryside of our hometown Cremona, looking for an heron: it took a lot of patience, but in a few hours of attempts Matteo captured the perfect flight for the beginning of the video. The day continued exploring the countryside looking for some nice corners; then we stopped to a farm to view a old style bedroom. Catholic managers of the farm seemed to be interested, until they discovered that we are a perverse and satanic metal band (no words ahahah).
DAY 2: The second day of shooting was Saturday, November 22, 2014. We started early in the morning, near Soncino (CR), where Toshiro, along with the director Matteo and his staff made some shots of the river Oglio from above, by helicopter.
After a fast lunch the day continued with make-up at my house, and then we moved to Podere Bellavitis, a nice restaurant in an old farm in Corte de' Frati (CR), my village. Our friends Gionata and Giulia reached us for some help. The scenes of the band were filmed in the beautiful hall of the restaurant, full of antique furniture and paintings, so perfect for an elegant setting and very evocative. The day ended with a nice dinner.
DAY 3: The third and final day of shooting was the one with the actors, to set the story of "Drops of Amber": we started in the morning at Villa Medici del Vascello, a beautiful castle in San Giovanni in Croce (CR). The town council has kindly made available a few rooms to prepare the actors. We shooted in the park of the castle, full of some really charming corners (for example the beautiful small temple), with a rich autumn nature that offered us a perfect setting.
In the afternoon, we continued with a visit to the river Po, in Cremona, to shoot some scenes next to the water: Leda and Enrico were very patient, they faced the cold without any fear, acting naturally and always full of enthusiasm!
Then we moved to the b&b Monteverdi, in the downtown of Cremona, to shoot scenes of the bedroom: the room, decorated and furnished in antique style, is what we needed .
Final shooting at the pool of Verolanuova (BS) for the underwater scenes.

The song and the videoclip are inspired by the Greek myth of Phaethon:
Phaethon was the son of the Oceanid Clymene and the solar deity Apollo or Helios.
Phaethon, challenged by his playmates, sought assurance from his mother that his father was the sun god. She gave him the requested assurance and told him to turn to his father for confirmation.
He asked his father for some proof that would demonstrate his relationship with the sun. When the god promised to grant him whatever he wanted, he insisted on being allowed to drive the sun chariot for a day. Placed in charge of the chariot, he was unable to control the horses. The earth was in danger of being burnt up and, to prevent this disaster, Zeus killed him with a thunderbolt. Phaeton fell into river Eridano, now called Po, near Crespino (Rovigo, Italy).
The unfortunate Phaethon was deeply mourned by his sisters, the Heliades, who were transformed into poplar trees to stand by the river and protect their brother forever; their tears became drops of amber.
