SOUND STORM European Tour - 20th Dec: LONDON

Finally esterday I had the opportunity to be in London: we played at the O2 Academy Islington , the best live music club of the city. We left Paris at 1am and we went to bed at 4...damn, at 7 we had to wake up for a control at the British border before taking the Eurotunnel. We showed documents and we got back on the tourbus that was loaded on a train that transported us through the submarine tunnel in awhile...I was a bit afraid but it was easy!
Then we went back to sleep, I felt like I had just fallen asleep when from the speakers the voice of our tourmanager woke us up...it was only 9 and we had already arrived at the venue. Too bad the place was still closed and the tourbus could not stop there, we had to take all the luggage and the backline and wait until noon outside the club...in the meanwhile we drank a coffee at Starbucks, luckily we were in the Angel area, a beautiful neighborhood full of shops.
When they finally opened the club, we brought in all the stuff and we decided to take a ride in Camden Town, which is only 2 metro stops: guys, I have never seen such a thing, a lot of rock shops, alternative clothings, a unique zone in the world. I was really impressed and I promised to myself to return as soon as possible...possibly with an empty suitcase to fill! Unfortunately we only had one hour free because we had to load in the backline before Arkona soundcheck. It was possible for us just to do a quick linecheck, but sounds were ok both on stage and in the hall, we started playing very soon at 17.35, but there were already people and it was a real success, maybe the date where audience has the most appreciated us: after the gig people asked us a lot of photos and autographs, and a lot of merch sold. They told us that it would be better to play seconds instead of Coma, a band out of context.
After our live I met a friend of mine who lives in London, Manuele who came to see us. We went out all together to eat a cheeseburger with money that production has provided us for dinner (not catering last night) and then Manuele guided us into an area of ​​London that tourism usually does not visit, the canal area where many families live on boats equipped with everything: a true second city in the city. Something very special and I thank Manuele, it was a pleasure!
I must say, I don't know why but I was never attracted from London that much, but now I have fallen in love with this city and I have to come back as soon as possible!

Ieri ho finamente avuto l'occasione di andare a Londra: abbiamo suonato alla O2 Academy Islington, il migliore live club della città. Siamo partiti da Parigi verso l'1 e tra una chiacchiera e l'altra sul tourbus ce ne siamo rimasti svegli fino alle 4...non l'avremmo fatto se ci avessero informato che alle 7 sarebbe stato necessario scendere tutti quanti per il controllo alla frontiera britannica prima di prendere il tunnel della Manica! Dopo aver mostrato i documenti negli uffici di dogana, siamo risaliti sul tourbus che è stato imbarcato su un treno che ci ha trasportati attraverso il tunnel sottomarino...ero un po'in ansia sinceramente ma alla fine niente di che, non sembrava neanche di muoversi! Ci siamo quindi rimessi a dormire, mi sembrava di essermi appena addormentata quando dall'altoparlante la voce del tourmanager ci ha svegliati poco delicatamente con un "Everybody wake up"...erano solo le 9 ed eravamo già arrivati alla venue. Peccato che il locale era ancora chiuso ed essendo in centro il tourbus non poteva sostare lì, abbiamo quindi dovuto scaricare tutti i bagagli e la backline e aspettare fino a mezzogiorno fuori dal club...ne abbiamo approfittato per un caffè da Starbucks, fortunatamente eravamo in zona Angel, un bel quartiere pieno di negozi.

Quando finalmente hanno aperto il club, abbiamo portato dentro tutto il materiale e abbiamo deciso di farci un giro a Camden Town, che dista solo 2 fermate di metro: ragazzi, io non ho mai visto una cosa del genere, un negozio rock dopo l'altro, vestiti alternativi di ogni genere, spettacolare, un quartiere unico al mondo. Sono rimasta davvero impressionata e copita e mi sono ripromessa di tornarci il prima possibile...possibilmente con una valigia vuota da riempire!! Purtroppo avevamo solo un'ora di libertà perchè poi dovevamo montare la backline prima del soundcheck degli Arkona. A noi è stato possibile fare solo un breve linecheck, ma i suoni erano cmq fatti bene sia sul palco che fuori; abbiamo iniziato a suonare molto presto, alle 17.35, ma c'era già gente ed è stato un vero successo, forse la data dove il pubblico ci ha maggiormente apprezzati: dopo il live abbiamo avuto tantissimi complimenti, richieste di foto e autografi e un bel po' di merch venduto. Tutti ci hanno ripetuto che sarebbe stato meglio suonare noi per secondi al posto dei Coma, band fuori contesto.
Dopo il nostro live ho incontrato un mio amico residente a Londra, Manuele che è venuto a vederci e a salutarmi. Siamo usciti tutti insieme a mangiarci un cheeseburger coi soldi che ci ha fornito la produzione per la cena (non c'era il catering neanche ieri sera) e ci ha poi guidato in una zona di Londra che il turismo di massa non conosce, la 
zona dei canali dove molte famiglie vivono su barche attrezzate di tutto, una vera seconda città nella città: un giro molto particolare ed emozionante e per questo ringrazio Manuele, è stato un piacere! Devo dirlo, non so perchè ma Londra non mi ha mai attirato più di tanto, ma ora me ne sono letteralmente innamorata e ci devo tornare il prima possibile!!
